3-D View of my reef tank

After seeing Obama's Inauguration in 3-d on CNN yesterday I could not wait to come home and try it out on my tank. If you have not seen this you must try it out at home with your tank or anything else you might want to show your friends in 3-d. The technology is new and called photosynth by Microsoft.

Here's the fun part I uploaded all the pictures I had of my tank to their site and it did the rest!
Check out my reef tank in 3-d.
Remember this was not something I had planned so it is not the best 3-d show since I just uploaded everything I had when I have more time. I plan on taking new shots to get inside the crevices and all around the tank. Take really close up shots of my favorite coral zoanthids and some of my fishes. Zoom in and out of the tank and click everywhere you'll be amazed at some of the stuff you will find. You should be able to spot the gobies, starfish, clownfish and some crabs among other things.

To do this with your tank go to Photosynth

My Little Reef

This blog will be devoted to one of my passions. Reefkeeping. I seem to have a love affair with the ocean I truly enjoy being in it either swimming, scuba diving, fishing, boating or admiring it. For years I've been wanting a salt water reef tank but always thought it to be too expensive or complicated to maintain. It was not until a few months ago that I helped a close friend clean his that I finally decided to dive in.

I have a 60 gallon reef tank and since it is only about 4 months old it is not really filled in yet. The reef is currently hosting zoanthids, ricordeas and mushrooms. For live stock I keep a false percula clown (nemo), 4 chromis, red scooter blennie, yellow watchman goby and high fin goby.
